Wayne Rooney has opted for Dubai’s beaches over St. Andrew’s.

Before being dismissed as Birmingham’s head coach in early January, the renowned Manchester United star lost just two of his fifteen games in charge.

Rooney was let go from his job at Birmingham earlier this month.

After visiting darts star Luke Littler at Old Trafford, Rooney was spotted lounging in the sun in the United Arab Emirates.

Rooney, 38, shared a picture of his vacation to the country on Instagram.

While there, the Evertonian and famous NHL player Alex Ovechkin were pictured together.

In addition to breaking four league goal scoring marks, the 38-year-old Ovechkin earned three NHL MVP trophies.

The left winger has won a Stanley Cup in 2018 since joining the Washington Capitals in 2005.

However, after winning footballer of the year in 2010, Rooney went on to win five Premier League titles and one Champions League.
