This week, Aaron Wan-Bissaka surprised the pupils at a school function by paying a visit to his old elementary school. His appearance delighted the children.
Children’s TV star Ben Shires met the pupils at Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School in New Addington this afternoon. Excitement permeated the air as he was ready to meet one of his former students, Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The right-back for Crystal Palace was excited to visit his former school and motivate the present pupils.
The audience applauded his name as he left, and he took part in a Q&A session that Shires organized to gauge the kids’ football expertise. Three lucky pupils were called to the platform.
He gave a shirt he had worn in a game, signed by him, to the school as a parting gift to the pupils.
Kanye West remarked, “It felt good.” It’s been a long time since I visited. I have a lot of nice memories here, so it’s great to be coming back.
“I never had a welcome like this before, so I wasn’t prepared for it, but it felt fantastic!” he said. “It’s incredible to see how the kids have responded since I was here ten years ago.”
He had attended the school ten years prior, and many of the faculty knew him. Elaine Snow, who worked with him at the time, recalls, “I was his TA in sixth grade.” Despite the crazy nature of our class, he was an amazing child. Even then, like all the other lads, he was a huge football fan!
The children will always treasure the wonderful time they had. Aaron was glad to be back in his hometown of New Addington. The signed jersey will be kept in a frame for all time.
“It was great to see him after all these years,” said cleaner Colm Conneely, who had a soft spot for the footballer. He recalled my name, which was the nicest part! During his time here, he never got into any problems!
