According to Givemesport, Barcelona are ready to sign Rashford in the January transfer window, after reports emerged that minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe had reduced his asking price to £35m.
On the other hand, Spanish newspaper SPORT reported that MU had shown interest in Barcelona centre-back Ronald Araujo. The source said that the Catalan club had reduced the selling price of the Uruguayan to around €45-50m (£40-45m). That means MU and Barcelona could sit down at the negotiating table to discuss a swap deal.
Araujo is rumoured to have agreed personal terms with Juventus. However, Mundo Deportivo revealed that Barcelona had rejected the first undisclosed offer from the “Old Lady”.
Speaking about Araujo recently, coach Hansi Flick said: “I want him in my squad because he is one of the best defenders today. Araujo is back and ready to play. I know there are a lot of rumours but Araujo is a great professional.”
Updating information about the Rashford transfer, journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed on his personal page that Barcelona, AC Milan, Juventus and Dortmund have all held negotiations with Rashford’s representatives.
According to sources revealed to TEAMtalk, Rashford’s priority is to move to Spain to play football and Barcelona is considered his dream destination. However, this deal has encountered a major setback due to the Catalan club’s financial problems.
Rashford’s future has become a topic of interest since he was left out of the squad by coach Ruben Amorim for MU’s victory over Man City last month. Just days later, Rashford made clear his desire to leave Old Trafford in search of a “new challenge”.
