Jurgen Klopp steals the spotlight at Taylor Swift’s concert at Anfield before quickly leaving

Jurgen Klopp returned to Anfield on Thursday night and couldn’t resist enjoying Taylor Swift’s record-breaking Eras tour.

The former Reds manager was spotted in the audience at her 100th concert, less than a month after bidding an emotional farewell to the club after stepping down at the end of the season.

Klopp has been active on social media, watched his former team Borussia Dortmund lose in the Champions League final, and was spotted with his predecessor, Brendan Rodgers, in Spain last week.

The German then returned to Merseyside for a special event at the sold-out MandS Bank Arena. On Thursday, he returned to L4, this time as a fan, to see the American pop sensation perform.

Klopp shocked fans by announcing his comeback for three sold-out Taylor Swift shows, including a shoutout to the ‘Love Story’ singer. He excitedly exclaimed, “So! Taylor has returned to Liverpool. So, I had three things to do today.

“No, I had two.” We have a barber appointment with Umut, then we’re off to Anfield. First time going to the stands to watch Taylor Swift rather than a football game. So, yeah, I’m not Taylor-made, but Taylor-ready.

“Let’s head to Anfield for a fantastic night. A fantastic night would be ideal. “See you there.”

As Taylor Swift dazzled the crowd, Klopp emerged as an unexpected standout.

Wearing an all-black attire and his characteristic cap flipped back, he turned heads with an unexpected choice of pink eyewear and even borrowed wife Ulla’s pink hat to get into the spirit of the show. He was also seen giving a loving hug to a steward before watching the concert from the main stand.

Nice hat Jurgen

However, Klopp’s time at Liverpool is short-lived, as the European Championships lure him back to Germany. On Friday night in Munich, Die Mannschaft will face Scotland in the Euro 2024 opener, which he is looking forward to.

Liverpool’s Andy Robertson, who played 297 times under Klopp, heads the Scottish side, and the left-back said that Klopp sent him a touching text message last week when he achieved a new Tartan Army record.

“It was a very nice message from him, which he didn’t have to do, but I appreciated it massively,” Robertson added. “All he said was Congratulations.

“I believe he is attending the game tomorrow [Germany against Scotland], so it will be interesting to see who he supports. I am convinced there is just one answer to that. I don’t need his advise; I believe he understands that.

“Hopefully he can enjoy the game, but hopefully not too much.”
