Steph Curry, key player for the Warriors, is expected to be ready for the journey ahead
Tim Hardaway Sr. was a five-time All-Star point guard in the 1990s, when he played for the Miami Heat and the Golden State Warriors. With the game’s current trajectory, Hardaway thinks he could become a top NBA player by playing like Stephen Curry and scoring 40 points per game.
The assertion was made by Hardaway on the podcast of Mark Jackson, the former head coach of the Warriors.
it’s easy. I get to take 15 three-point shots per game; it’s like being Steph Curry. At the moment, I feel like Steph Curry. 40 is easy, but dealing with me right now will be difficult.During his prime, Hardaway was unbelievable, leading the Warriors to a 23.4 point per game while shooting 46.1% from the field and 41.1% from beyond the arc in 1991–1992. But it’s ridiculous to assume he’d average 40 points in the NBA now.
He drew comparisons to Stephen Curry, even though Curry had never averaged more than 30 points per game before his 2015–16 season, when he was named the NBA’s most valuable player without a doubt.
In 2018–19, James Harden averaged 36.1 points per game, which was the closest any player had been to averaging 30 points. He was unable to score 40 points, as were the top players of his generation, like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Joel Embiid, Luka Doncic, and many more.
