After losing De’Anthony Melton for the season, the Golden State Warriors may restock their backcourt with a familiar face.
Donte DiVincenzo’s return to the Warriors might spark a fifth championship runBrett Siegel of ClutchPoints recently predicted that the Warriors might be one of several teams interested in trading for Donte DiVincenzo, a shooting guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves (h/t NBA Central):
According to insiders, multiple contending clubs across the league are considering Donte DiVincenzo as a potential trade target. The 27-year-old combo guard was not thrilled about the prospect of serving as a bench player following his trade to the Timberwolves, according to Siegel. However, the team does appreciate DiVincenzo’s skill set.
In his time with the Warriors and the Knicks, DiVincenzo improved from excellent to outstanding. If DiVincenzo signs with the Warriors again, he has a chance to develop into a scoring threat worthy of All-Star consideration. He had a prior NBA experience during the 2022–23 season with the Warriors. The graduate of Villanova was a reliable scorer for the Dubs’ bench, averaging 9.4 points per game on 39.7 percent three-point shooting. It was last year when the New York Knicks hosted DiVincenzo’s coming-out celebration. The 27-year-old set new career highs in scoring (15.5 points), rebounding (3.7) and steals (1.3) on a night when he shot 40.1% from outside the arc. With 283 three-pointers that season, he also became the franchise record holder for the Knicks.
