Van Nistelrooy leaves Man Utd, applies to become coach of English team
Coach Van Nistelrooy has just left the role of interim coach of Man Utd with a commendable record of winning 3 matches and drawing 1 match. However, Van Gol was still removed from the coaching staff of new coach Ruben Amorim.
After leaving Man Utd, the Dutch coach still intends to stay in England to find a coaching job. According to talkSPORT, Van Nistelrooy has applied for the vacant position at Coventry City, a team playing in the English First Division.
Earlier this month, Coventry City fired coach Mark Robins after 7 years of working. This is quite regrettable because Mark Robins has left a clear mark. However, with Coventry City down to 17th place in the table (just 1 point above the relegation zone), the club’s board of directors were forced to make a cruel decision.
Also applying to be Coventry City’s manager were Premier League legend Frank Lampard and England’s interim manager Lee Carsley. However, Coventry City fans are excited about the prospect of Van Nistelrooy leading the team.
A fan commented on CoventryLive: “I want to see Van Nistelrooy because he has many international connections. That will help Coventry City bring in good players. This is a big advantage.”
His success in a short period of leading Man Utd helped Van Nistelrooy receive a lot of sympathy. Recently, Burnley FC also wanted to invite Van Gol to take over the “hot seat” of the club to replace Scott Parker.
In another development, Van Nistelrooy’s former teammate and close friend, Andre Ooijer, revealed that Van Gol was very disappointed to have to leave Man Utd. He shared: “Ruud wanted to stay at Old Trafford as an assistant coach. He had the opportunity to become the head coach of another team but refused because he loved the job at Man Utd.
Don’t forget that Ruud performed very well at Man Utd. Look at how much the fans love him. The way they reacted in Ruud’s last match said it all. He revived Man Utd at the most difficult time. If coach Ruben Amorim does not achieve good results in the first few matches, Man Utd fans will call Ruud’s name again”.
