The bout between boxing great Mike Tyson and former YouTube sensation Jake Paul finally took place after four months of buildup.
By a unanimous decision over eight rounds on Friday night, the 27-year-old Paul defeated the former world heavyweight champion. He had the upper hand versus the 58-year-old due to his youth.
During the first round, Netflix had connection problems; however, by the second round, Paul had landed multiple powerful blows on Tyson, which affected his performance, according to Sports Illustrated.
He maintained his lead and went on to win the match. This brings his record to 11-1.
Before the bout, both competitors spoke highly of the other. The devil himself will be entering the ring, Tyson informed a select group of ESPN reporters earlier this week.
By referring to Paul as a “friend,” Tyson made it clear that he did not have any sympathy for him. It would be wise for my mom to use extreme caution if she were to spar with me. Once it’s over, that’s it. However, my objective is to cause him harm while this procedure is underway. If he doesn’t have the same goals, he’s in trouble.Aw, it’s so adorable. Man, I fear none. “So, I want him to be that old savage Mike,” Paul remarked at the final news conference before the battle. “According to him, he intends to murder me. Get me ready. I yearn for that murderer. When I knock him out on Friday night, I want everyone at home to have no excuses; I want the toughest match conceivable.
At the weigh-in on November 14, tensions between the fighters escalated when Tyson smacked Paul.
