When Boston Celtics fans jeered Warriors coach Steve Kerr during Wednesday night’s game at TD Garden, guard Jrue Holiday had a funny response.
Holiday described how Kerr was reprimanded by the fans for benching Jayson Tatum, a standout for the Celtics, during the Olympics in Paris.
On FDTV’s “Run It Back,” Holiday stated, “The fans didn’t like it.” The crap out of bro was jeered by them. Even though I like Steve, that was incredible.

— @RunItBackFDTV’s Run It Back November 7, 2024Kerr faced the difficult challenge of assembling lineups for one of the greatest Olympic teams ever as coach of Team USA. Someone would inevitably be left out among Steph Curry, LeBron James, Anthony Edwards, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, Holiday, and others.
Boston supporters were incensed at Tatum’s disregard and asked how Kerr could sit the four-time All-NBA player in favor of some of his less successful teammates. Of all the players on Team USA’s roster, Tatum played the second-fewest minutes.
With Tatum scoring a game-high 32 points, the intense matchup between two of the NBA’s best teams lived up to the hype. Steph Curry’s explosive explosion and some shrewd free-throw shooting helped the Warriors defeat Boston 118–112.
