Whitfield, who has been connected to the NBA rookie since the two 20-year-old Sierra Canyon alumni were seen together at the August Olympics in Paris, shared a picture of flowers and a heartfelt note from NBA star LeBron James’ son, Bronny, on her Instagram Stories.
Below the bouquets in the picture, which was posted on Tuesday, November 5, was a card that said, “Your bf loves you so much.”
Bronny shared the romantic surprise with his 8.1 million followers on the app by reposting Whitfield’s Story of the Flowers and appearing to include a few kissy-faced emojis.Bronny appears to be adjusting to life on the road as the Lakers continue their road trip, which ends on Wednesday when they play the Grizzlies in Memphis.
The affectionate gesture was made just one day after Bronny openly expressed on his Instagram Story how much he missed Whitfield during the Lakers’ Monday, November 4 trip to Detroit, where they were defeated 103-115 by the Pistons.
Bronny shared a picture of himself and Whitfield at Disneyland Paris earlier that day, writing, “I miss my baby,” with the words, “Love u sm,” underneath.The young pair first connected at Sierra Canyon, where Whitfield played softball and Bronny was a standout athlete before spending a season at USC. Since their initial public appearance on August 7 during the men’s basketball semifinal match against Team Serbia in Paris, they have largely kept their relationship under wraps.
Following the U.S. victory, Bronny and Whitfield were seen walking hand in hand through the streets of Paris as they left the Bercy Arena.
When Whitfield shared a picture of the rookie official on National Boyfriend Day, writing, “Bf day! “@bronny,” on Instagram, “I love you!”
On Wednesday, following their game in Memphis, Bronny and the Lakers will head back home. On Friday, November 8, they will host Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers at home.
