Kevin Durant has scored at least 30 points in three of his four games to begin the new season, further proving why he is certain to be inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame at some point. As he advances in his 18th season in the league, Durant is hoping to help guide the Phoenix Suns to a successful postseason this time around. He is armed with his Nike KD 17, which made its debut back in May following the Suns’ swift defeat by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Playoffs.
Despite the 36-year-old star’s brilliance, fresh hues of his most recent signature footwear have been frequently spotted. In reference to his thin physique and offensive prowess, Durant and Nike have adopted the moniker “Slim Reaper” in the most recent fashion to hit the internet. The motif was first adopted by the KD 16 earlier this year, and the KD 17 adopts a similar but different appearance this time. Its black and orange color pattern is reminiscent of Halloween, and the big “SLIM REAPER” writing hits the heel similarly to its predecessor.
Nike has not yet announced the release date for the KD 17’s “Slim Reaper” colorway for next year. The pair is presently anticipated to launch in early 2025 via Nike SNKRS and a few other stores at the model’s usual starting price of $150 USD.
