Rio Ferdinand, Carles Puyol, Nemanja Vidic, Andrea Pirlo, Javier Mascherano, Clarence Seedorf, Leonardo Bonucci, Edwin Van der Sar, Ricardo Carvalho, John Arne Riise, Adilson, and Yaya Toure made up the defensive squad, which was appropriately named Shield FC and was coached by Fabio Cannavaro.

Kaka, Didier Drogba, Eden Hazard, Dimitar Berbatov, Carlos Tevez, Luis Figo, Michael Owen, Andriy Shevchenko, Marouane Fellaini, Alessandro Del Piero, Diego Forlan, and Rivaldo were all members of FC Spear, which was coached by Thierry Henry.

Naturally, the line-ups were entertaining to watch, with one team lacking any recognized defenders and the other without any strikers.Henry started for FC Spear as a full defender in a 4-3-3 formation, with Tevez, Drogba, and Berbatov as the other three forwards.

Shield used a 3-4-3 formation, with Mascherano, Pirlo, Bonucci, and Puyol in midfield and Toure, Riise, and Seedorf in the front three.
