When sparring footage from Mike Tyson’s fight with Jake Paul was released on November 15, it was projected that Tyson would be in serious difficulty.
Finally, in a thirteen-second blitz versus an unidentified training partner, the Baddest Man on the Planet revealed a video of his ring preparations. The floodgates opened as soon as Tyson made himself available for remarks.
Tyson’s critics were not deterred by his heavily edited sparring session. Some others are now even more terrified; one even predicted that the former heavyweight champion will eventually return to using a wheelchair. From a pre-fight “spinal” injury to sciatica that forced him to spend a few years on four wheels, the 58-year-old has a long history of back issues.
Real concerns have been raised that Tyson won’t be able to survive the full eight rounds or even make it through a two-minute round without exposing himself to serious harm from the YouTuber.
Mike Tyson sparringIt was not enjoyable to read the comments.
“I believe I understand why jump cuts are so prevalent. One said, “You will be gassed in 20 seconds.” “I’m beginning to think that dude is in some serious trouble,” another person wrote. I hope he has paid for his insurance. A lovely wheelchair will be purchased with all that money.
“We see these ten-second clips of furious power and speed,” said a third. We don’t observe the fifteen minutes of recovery that follow. We all know that money now rules this world, yet it’s still a pointless argument with ridiculous conditions in the contract to make it last.
A fourth critic remarked menacingly, “I haven’t seen two minutes of continuous action yet.”
Because there isn’t any. Roy Jones Jr. was the last opponent Tyson faced in the ring for a considerable amount of time, four years ago. Clinching took up a large portion of that ten-round exhibition.
Tyson will not be facing a 52-year-old opponent who is blowing as hard as he is in the opposing corner this time. Paul is 27 years old, incredibly strong, and capable.
It remains to be seen if those clauses in the contract will prevent Paul from knocking Tyson unconscious. It is generally agreed that the elderly legend has about sixty seconds to incapacitate the influencer before he starts to lose it.
