Steph Curry is a phenomenal talent both on and off the court, and he serves as an inspiration to a great number of young people who view him as a once-in-a-lifetime basketball player.

NBA greats have praised the Golden State Warriors guard, who also serves as an inspiration to young players in the league. Quincy Olivari, a rookie for the Los Angeles Lakers, is the most recent example.When Olivari was asked about meeting his idol during a news conference following the Warriors vs. Lakers preseason game, which Golden State won 132-74, the former Xavier Musketeers member didn’t hold back.

“I’ve liked him since sixth grade; he’s my all-time favorite player. He told me right away that he was a huge fan of yours. He signed his jersey twice, which I had. Olivari remarked, “I used to sleep under that jersey.”

After showing Curry a video of the Warriors guard signing one of his jerseys, the Atlanta native left the arena carrying a pair of Steph’s signed sneakers.

Olivari performed admirably despite Golden State’s victory. With 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists in 39 minutes, he led the Lakers in scoring.

Curry did not participate, but he had the opportunity to talk with Lakers players, such as Olivari and LeBron James, who was a teammate on the USA basketball team that took home the gold medal in Paris in 2024.Following the Warriors-Lakers game, James and Curry had a brief conversation before giving each other a passionate embrace on the court.

 

On Christmas Day, the Warriors and Lakers would play for the first time in the regular season in what looks to be an intriguing game.
