For Bronny James, the tide has turned. Even though he was under constant scrutiny, the rookie for the Los Angeles Lakers began in the final preseason game vs the Warriors. As the Lakers’ young guns battled for rotation spots, the court seemed to become a battlefield among the team. Also, the Dubs held a 30-point lead the whole game, thus it was clearly a one-sided affair. While James Jr.’s anticipated rise was a shining moment, it also cast a shadow over a sophomore player.
With two steals and a block to his name, Bronny had a total of fifteen points (on seventeen field goals) before the fourth quarter had started. Jalen Hood-Schifino, who is preparing to return to the Laker lineup for a second season, began the contest in the point guard position. His 6 points on 3-of-10 field goals infuriated the crowd. A fan remarked, “what’s JHS purpose on this team man ship him tf outta here.” Hood-Schifino paid the price in response to Bronny’s ascension.
