Andrew Wiggins Discusses His Emotions Before The Preseason Game

Andrew Wiggins, a gifted two-way player, desperately needed a fresh start, and he got one with the Golden State Warriors after playing his first five and a half seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

In the end, joining the Warriors was just what Wiggins needed to realize his full potential because, as the top option in Minnesota, he failed to live up to his potential and needed to be a second or third option on a good team.

Reviving his basketball career, Wiggins played alongside Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green during the 2021–22 NBA season, when he came into his own and helped the club win an NBA title.

Unfortunately for Wiggins, his play on the court for the Warriors has suffered greatly as a result of his off-the-court problems, making his two seasons in the Bay Area forgettable to put it mildly.

According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, despite rumors that the Warriors are trying to trade Wiggins, the veteran forward is still in San Francisco and will play in his first preseason game with the team tonight against the Los Angeles Lakers in Las Vegas, Nevada. Wiggins acknowledges that he is unsure of his current level of fitness.

“Tonight, I’ll find out,” stated Wiggins.Wiggins’ season ended with a career-low 13.2 points per game, which is unfavorable for a club that depends on him to contribute to some offense.

But Wiggins gets a second chance to turn his career around because the Warriors need to replace Thompson, who signed with the Dallas Mavericks this summer. They may start Wiggins early to see if he can still contribute on the court.
