Oleksandr Usyk Receives A Message From Tyson Fury

In a message shared on Instagram today, Tyson Fury said that Oleksandr Usyk, the unified heavyweight champion, made a “mistake” by not finishing him off in their May bout. Now, in their rematch in Riyadh on December 21, Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) promises to make Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) “feel the wrath.” The Gypsy King has been ruminating on his defeat, and the guilt must be eating away at him since he has now decided to speak up. Since losing to Usyk, Fury has remained very silent, leading some supporters to believe that he is a fallen king. After being expelled from the kingdom, he is now hiding away and attempting to figure out what went wrong. What went wrong with Fury is really clear.

He rested with his back against the ropes for the majority of the Usyk bout, following the same tactic he used to defeat Wladimir Klitschko in 2015. The difference was that, in contrast to Wladimir, Usyk was not hesitant to unleash artillery on him and defeated the Gypsy King that evening. Usyk would have easily won the last three rounds by knockout if he hadn’t let up on his pressure. After being knocked out in round nine, Fury was left with nothing to lose. “You missed your opportunity to complete the task! Error. You’re going to experience the fury of a threat soon,” Tyson Fury wrote on Instagram in reference to Oleksandr Usyk. “You are the target of Gypsy King 2024.” December 21 is my day 🖕🏼 I take on the world 🌍 incoming heavyweight champion three times. Fury needs to get off his ass, shed some pounds, and go back to the form he showed in his 2020 rematch with Deontay Wilder if he hopes to have any chance in the rematch. Usyk can only be defeated by that version of Fury. Fury needs to attack, let his guard down, and not be scared to utilize the same filthy tactics he used on Deontay in order to win the rematch. He is not talented enough to defeat Usyk by fighting under the Marquess of Queensberry’s rules.

Why would you confront Usyk again in public? He is a little man. You never retreat from a small man. A little guy develops confidence if you back down from them. “He gave him confidence, so now look what happened,” Roy Jones stated in reference to Tyson Fury’s error against Oleksandr Usyk in their May 18th fight on Talk Sports Boxing. Fury backed down from Usyk for two reasons: Being very heavy Using the Klitschko strategy Fury’s decision to enter the fight with so much fat around his middle was unwise, but it was obvious that he had gained too much weight following his battle with Francis Ngannou.

Even with consecutive training sessions, Fury was unable to lose enough weight to be functional. Fury made a mistake by recycling the Klitschko game plan, as Usyk was not averse to throwing blows, thus that tactic would never succeed. Unlike the gunshy Wladimir nine years earlier, he would not appreciate Fury’s meek strength. If Sugarhill Steward, Fury’s trainer, is the one who devised that strategy, he should fire him—if he hasn’t already fired him. NEWS: Eddie Hearn wants Joshua to retire after fighting Fury twice in 2025. “This time, the confidence will be much stronger because Usyk knows in his mind that he can take down Fury, something he didn’t believe he could do in the first fight. He can now set Fury down, he knows. He will defeat Fury once more if he fights as his typical, methodical Usyk, who is extremely intelligent and meticulous in everything he does, according to Jones.
