Fourth-year guard Jonathan Kuminga spoke to the media today at the Warriors’ media day about his canines, Dior and Prada, two French bulldogs he adopted during the 2020 quarantine.
Jonathan, you’re so real. My research indicates that Dior, who was black and tan, came first, and that Jonathan took Prada, who was gray and white, because Dior was lonely.
“Having them around really made a big difference for me. I loved coming back to them after practice or a game and just hanging out or playing with them.” I adore them a great deal.
Kuminga went on, “I adore my pups.” I could never trust anyone with them. I adore having them.Kuminga intends to give Dior and Prada a second championship ring this year. In just over 26 minutes a game, the soon-to-be 22-year-old forward averaged 16.1 points, 4.8 assists, and 2.2 rebounds.
It’s Kevon Looney’s time to make a splash
Kevon Looney, who will be entering his tenth season with the Golden State Warriors, is eager to debut a new appearance. He’s not merely referring to his fashionable braids, either.
Although Looney has always put in a lot of effort, he claims that during the summer, while working with player development coach Jerred Cook, he was shooting “probably 400, 500” three-pointers every day. Looney came to the conclusion that he had to improve his shooting in order to be a member of this team after losing both his starter position and his rotation slot to Trayce Jackson-Davis during the season.
Looney made one three-pointer in the previous season, just as he did in 2022–2023 and 2021–2022. 2020–21 was his best three-point season, going 4-for–17 from long range. Although Looney has been shooting an increasing amount of shots from 3–10 feet away from the hoop, last season, more than 90% of his attempts were from inside 10 feet of the basket. Last season, those made up 42% of his shots, and Looney made them at a 54% clip. But Looney could really shoot it when he was in college. Looney made 1.5 three-pointers a game while spending his one season at UCLA, shooting 41.5% from three-point range. Looney’s shot lost some of its fluidity due to hip troubles, but he does have some experience making jumpers.
Looney told reporters, “I’m not going to be out there like Klay or somebody.” “All I want is to be able to take the open shot when it’s time to space the floor.”
He claims that he hasn’t simply posted hundreds of threes. Lonney saw the moments in the game film where Dario Saric and Draymond Green were given unguarded looks during the previous season. Additionally, he claims that even though he has always had a “good foundation” for his three-point shot, it was only a matter of getting the courage to make threes during a game.
This autumn, Looney is going through more changes than just that. Contrary to the popular belief among NBA players that they have gained “15 pounds of muscle” during the offseason, Looney is said to have dropped 10 to 15 pounds in order to increase his speed. He plans to play this season weighing between 250 and 250 pounds.
De’Anthony Melton, the New Warrior, was pleased with Loon’s display.
Melton said, “He looks good.” “He has that kind of slim appearance, like a mix tape from high school.”
When Looney first unleashes his pick-and-pop game against actual NBA teams, we’ll see how it looks. Although it’s too soon to declare him a Splash Brother, Looney might open up new offensive possibilities for the Dubs even if he can only become a Splash Cousin or even a Splash Close Family Friend.
