A New York judge denied the YouTuber-turned-boxer’s request to have the £75 million case dismissed.
It happens ahead of the 27-year-old’s professional battle on November 15 against the 58-year-old legend Mike Tyson.
In September 2022, Paul was sued by Matchroom Boxing and promoter Hearn for remarks he had made regarding a fight judge.
In his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk, Hearn was accused of paying Glen Feldman to arrange contests that would benefit Katie Taylor against Amanda Serrano and Anthony Joshua.
Serrano belonged to the MVP (Most Valuable Promotions) group, which Paul and Nakis Bidarian co-founded in 2021.
Paul’s request to have the defamation case dismissed has been denied by a court judge.
It is now expected that the action will proceed, with a court date in less than two weeks.
Hearn is suing for almost $100 million (£75 million) in damages. In the meantime, Paul is preparing for what may be Tyson’s early assault during their contentious fight next month.
It has drawn attention that they are 31 years apart.Additionally, Paul—who owns a perfect 10-1 record—warned the Baddest Man on the Planet that trying to end the match prematurely will result in a shock.
He stated to the Daily Mail: “I could definitely see him trying to [go for an early KO], but he’ll find out very quickly that I also have a ton of power.”However, Tyson’s side asserted in a promotional film that the former world champion was getting ready to “throw not just one bomb” but “missile after missile”.
They further stated: “If the fight were today, Jake Paul would be done.”
