The basketball world was taken aback when Klay Thompson decided to leave the Golden State Warriors and move to Dallas to join Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. Although many believed Thompson and the Dubs might come to an understanding, they were unable to come to an accord the previous season. Following the formal announcement of the three-team deal that sent Thompson to the Dallas Mavericks, Steph Curry shared an emotional story on Instagram. After expressing gratitude to his lifelong friend, the two-time MVP urged him to “go enjoy playing basketball and doing what you do.”

About two months following his announcement as a member of the Mavericks, Thompson posted a selection of his offseason images to Instagram. With a caption, he posted:

Thompson was shown in the photos alongside Seattle Seahawks great Marshawn Lynch. Another one had the illustrious Dirk Nowitzki alongside the five-time All-Star. A handful of the pictures featured him aboard his cherished boat with a few friends.

After the deal, Steph Curry, who hadn’t commented on any of Thompson’s Instagram photos, replied with an emoji of raised hands that denotes celebration or admiration.After an offseason, Thompson will report to Dallas for the first time in his career rather than the Bay Area. The recognizable face of coach Steve Kerr won’t be waiting for “Killa Klay.” It will be Mavericks coach Jason Kidd and his coaching staff that get the red carpet ready for him.
