‘WEIGHT IN GAME’: KSI Discloses Why He Would ’10x Better’ Against Tommy Fury Again And Acknowledges’mistake’ From Their First Fight

After realizing that his last error was the reason he lost against Tommy Fury, KSI has promised to be much better prepared for a possible rematch. The YouTuber, musician, and boxing pro lost his professional debut against Tyson Fury in a contentious decision last October.

On Saturday, KSI was set to compete in a two-on-one match against Anthony Taylor, a former mixed martial arts fighter, and social media sensation Slim Albaher. Unfortunately, he hurt his hand training for the Fury fight, so he had to pull out.

After thinking about his loss to Fury, KSI realized that his biggest mistake was being undersized. “I would prefer not to fabricate any justifications that could be used against Tommy and me,” KSI made clear to SunSport. Again, I’m to blame, but I believe the weight was the problem. I should have challenged him at a weight where I felt more confident.

He said, “Whereas now I’m in a position where I’m happy to be at 185 and I’m not gonna struggle to try and get to it,” referring to his struggle to reach the 185-pound weight limit for the bout. In the past, if I had to check my weight, I would drink a lot of water in an effort to reach the target weight of 185. I fought Tommy while being quite light-hearted. Alternatively, I’ve resolved to start bulking up, strengthening my muscles, and increasing my strength. Furthermore, I am confident that I would do a hundred times better in a rematch.

After carefully recovering from his hand injuries, 31-year-old KSI will not box again until 2025. He expressed his hope for the first quarter of next year. That, I believe, is our target. The majority of this year is probably not going to work. Instead of hastily getting back into battle and injuring myself again, it would be better if I let it some time to recover.

While that is happening, KSI will keep communicating with his audience via music. At a sold-out performance at Dublin’s 3Arena, he’ll not only perform but also provide commentary. “How can I still be a part of this next Misfits?” he asked after his injury. To that end, I decided to give a performance. Even though I’m not boxing anymore, my fans still get to see me perform—this time with music. I will still be singing both new and old songs, and I will also be providing commentary during the event. In general, the event will be well-attended.
