Klay Thompson was seen at the beach, shirtless, hanging out with an unknown family

If there were a prize for the most exciting offseason, Klay Thompson would probably take home the hardware. The four-time champion did a lot, including an unplanned beach picnic with some odd family, and departed the Warriors for the Mavericks.

According to TikTok user @imebooo, her family ran into Klay Thompson in Malibu. Thompson joined them for a game of beach ball and even took a beer from them. The post was captioned by her:

The historic trade that the Mavericks made to get Klay ThompsonThe first-ever six-team trade in NBA history occurred when Klay Thompson was sent to the Mavericks in a sign-and-trade. As the agreement grew, it encompassed two clubs from the Eastern Conference and four from the Western Conference.

The Warriors obtained Buddy Hield and Kyle Anderson as the primary components of the transaction, while the Mavericks received Thompson and a second-round selection in 2025.

The Nuggets got financial considerations and the Minnesota Timberwolves got a 2025 second-round selection and a 2031 second-round pick swap.

The Charlotte Hornets of the Eastern Conference were gifted Josh Green, Reggie Jackson, a second-round selection in 2029, and a second-round selection in 2030. Outside of the transaction, the Philadelphia 76ers were able to acquire Jackson and a 2031 second-round pick.

The 2023–24 season was Thompson’s second-worst 3-point shooting percentage at 38.7 percent, although he still brings a career-best 41.3% shooting percentage to the Mavericks.
