LeBron James has stated that he and his son Bronny have previously discussed the proper way for Bronny to address him while playing for the Los Angeles Lakers together.
In the second round of this year’s draft, Bronny was taken by the Lakers with the 55th overall choice.
No one knows how Bronny will figure into the Lakers’ plans just yet, but LeBron has long dreamed of the day his kid might play alongside his dad.
However, the 39-year-old stated that he will not budge unless Bronny stops calling him “Dad” while they are on the floor.
“No, we have already covered that,” James clarified during an episode of The Shop. In the office, he has no right to address me as “dad.”Very well. After we exit the exclusive facility and the gates close, I will be able to assume the role of dad once more. We travel side by side in the vehicle. When I’m at home, I can play dad.
I don’t care if he calls me 2-3, Bron, or GOAT; it’s his choice. It is his decision. I find it easy, though. It’s second nature to me as I’ve been referring to him as Bronny for quite some time. Not that I’ve been constantly addressing him as “Hey, son, hey, son.” Thus, I find it effortless. For him, it will be the adjustment.
“Dad, push the ball.” That’s just not possible while we’re sprinting down the floor. Yes, dad, I am available.”Oh, please. No way; that’s not possible.
In their season opener on October 22, the Los Angeles Lakers will host the Minnesota Timberwolves.
