Curry Brand has completed the eleventh court renovation at New York City’s DREAM Charter School East Harlem.

Curry Court

As part of its aim to rehabilitate 20 safe places to play by 2025 and affect 100,000 youngsters, Curry Brand, powered by Under Armour, has finished its twelfth court refurbishment at DREAM Charter School East Harlem in New York City. Since Stephen Curry was in town for an in-season game, he was able to attend the opening of the Curry Court 012 and surprise the fifty DREAM middle grade kids who had come to see the installation. Students wore their new Under Armour gear and Curry Brand sneakers, the Bruce Lee Curry 11, which were donated for the event, as they ran through fun drills and skill stations during a basketball clinic put on by Curry Brand and the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) to break in the new court.

Upon breaking the all-time three-point record at Madison Square Garden in New York City in December 2021, Curry Brand announced that it would construct safe spaces for youth to play in three different areas: 1) the greater Charlotte area, where Stephen’s basketball career began; 2) the Bay Area, where he and his family have lived throughout his time in the NBA; and 3) the greater New York City area, where Stephen broke the record in December 2021.

Stephen and Curry Brand prioritized DREAM Charter Schools above other potential New York City court renovations. Curry Brand’s Good Sports and Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) have been important collaborators with the school for a long time. All of the school’s coaches have received or will undergo Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) training, which provides them with the skills to inspire their players and set a good example, and the school also receives equipment and gear donations from Good Sports.

After Curry Court 009 in Charlotte’s Ada Jenkins Center in 2022 and Curry Court 010 in Oakland Academy of Knowledge in 2023, the third and last court from that joint commitment is being renovated at DREAM Charter School East Harlem’s Curry Court 012. In particular, this refurbishment exemplifies Curry Brand’s 360° strategy for community impact by giving kids a place to play in a safe environment while also guaranteeing that they have access to the tools they need and supportive adults to guide them.

That is our goal here at Curry Brand, to make sure that all of you have somewhere to go where you may feel safe playing with your friends and neighbors. Please know that you have our full backing as you strive to achieve your greatest potential.
