A “greatest” heat check, according to KD, was Steph’s golden dagger

After Steph Curry’s devastating dagger to secure Team USA’s Olympic gold medal against France on Saturday in Paris, Kevin Durant could only throw his head back in utter shock.

Being a two-time NBA champion with the Warriors superstar, Durant has witnessed firsthand the incredible plays that his former colleague has made.

However, Durant had never seen such a spectacular demonstration of Curry’s shooting ability when he made his eighth 3-pointer of the game.

“I’ve seen so many [heat checks] from him now,” Durant told Overtime following the game. “But that was — on this stage, his first Olympics, the world watching, especially after what he did last game [against Serbia], to follow it up again, that’s probably the greatest.”Durant has witnessed several spectacular moments from Steph Curry throughout the years. Prior to Saturday, Steph’s famous “double bang” shot, which tied the NBA record for most 3-pointers in a single game in 2016, was largely considered his best shot. The game was against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Contrary to popular belief, Curry and Durant were not Warriors teammates at the time, but the Slim Reaper was cheering on the Thunder from the floor.

Durant, like his Team USA opponent, thinks the golden dagger is Curry’s go-to “heat check” (when a player is really on fire tries a shot to test if they really can’t miss). After getting the ball back from Durant, Curry faced a French double-team as time ran out, and the Americans held a six-point lead with less than a minute to go. Durant had already made three threes in the fourth quarter. His sexiness is unmatched, though. To put the game away, the score was 98-87, and Curry sealed the deal with a spectacular fadeaway jumper.
