Coach Lindsey Harding of the Kings is now with the Los Angeles Lakers
Lindsey Harding will be joining JJ Redick’s coaching team as an assistant for the Los Angeles Lakers, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.Harding was named head coach of the Sacramento Kings’ G League club in Stockton after serving for several seasons as a player development coach with the Sacramento Kings. Harding made history in 2023–24 as the first female coach to ever get the NBA G League Coach of the Year award.
As she keeps breaking glass ceilings for women in the NBA, Harding joins the Los Angeles Lakers as their first female assistant.
Even before Charles Lee was hired, Harding was being considered for the head coaching position of her own team. This past offseason, she was interviewed for the position by the Charlotte Hornets.
The young, gifted coach is making waves in the NBA coaching scene, and she was selected first overall in the 2007 WNBA draft. The Kings community should be thrilled for her, regardless of whether she is joining a division foe, because securing a valuable position as an assistant with the Lakers is one step further than previously.
Harding is only at the beginning of her coaching career, but she is already making waves and will surely make even more as she goes.
