In their forthcoming fight, Lennox Lewis is certain that Mike Tyson can still give Jake Paul a run for his money.
After a health crisis postponed their planned July date, Tyson (now 58 years old) will fight Paul (now 56 years old) on November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Texas. After a May ulcer flare-up, the former world champion is back in training. Even though Tyson hasn’t fought since an exhibition bout with Roy Jones Jr. in 2020 and retired from professional boxing in 2005, his experience and talent are still unmatched.
With “I’m concerned for Jake Paul” as his statement to The Guardian in May, Lewis expressed his fear for Paul’s safety. When Tyson hits a bag, it’s clear he’s still got the punch down pat. Those blows will hurt Jake Paul if they land on him. At this point, Tyson steps forward and snipes the ring. The strength of Jake Paul’s defense will determine how long it could be. A few weeks ago, I had the chance to see Mike, and he appeared great. His preparation was evident from the way he was flaunting his physique.
After Tyson withdrew from the scheduled fight, Paul conveyed his admiration for the fighter and his worry for his well-being. “I do value Mike’s health,” Paul added. I hope Mike is well; I adore and respect that man. Mike is still making a fool of himself over there, threatening to knock me out even though I bought myself some time.
