At Monday’s star-studded Paris celebration of USA Basketball’s 50th anniversary, Tom Brady and LeBron James crossed paths.
As the men’s and women’s teams continue their quest for Olympic gold, USA Basketball threw a glamorous party to celebrate fifty years since its founding in August 1974.
At the celebration, Brady was seen conversing with fellow great LeBron and his wife Savannah; he is one of several American sports stars in town for the summer Olympics.
After the two sports legends joined up, a video of the NFL legend meeting Savannah—shared by NBC Sports—went viral.
In a later Instagram story post, Brady was joined by his 11-year-old daughter Vivian, who posed with LeBron.
He wrote, “WE GOT YOUR BACK!!! @usabasketball @kingjames” as the caption.
Even though LeBron is competing for a record-tying third Olympic gold medal with the United States this summer in Paris, Brady met with other American basketball stars that evening.
While toasting USA Basketball’s 50th anniversary, the seven-time Super Bowl winner also posed for a photo with Derrick White, Jrue Holiday, Jayson Tatum, and himself.
Katie Ledecky, a swimming sensation from the United States who won four medals at the Paris Games this summer, was seen speaking with Steph Curry somewhere.
Tyrese Haliburton, Anthony Edwards, and A’Ja Wilson were among those who were spotted arriving to the event that night.American gymnast Simone Biles competed in her last two events of the Paris Olympics earlier in the day, and Brady and Vivian were among the crowd members who cheered her on.
Biles completed her Olympic career with a silver medal on the floor exercise, just minutes after she seemed to hurt herself during warmups; she did not win gold in either event.
The sole event in which she did not reach the podium in Paris was the balance beam, when she had a fall.
But because of Brady and Biles’s skills in their own sports, supporters have joked that the former New England Patriots’ presence in France has made for ‘GOAT watching GOAT!’
Last year, Brady retired from the NFL after winning seven Super Bowls. Biles holds the record for most medals won by an American gymnast, with seven of those being gold.
