LeBron James has joined the elite US Olympic record club, along with Kevin Durant and Carmelo Anthony

Record-breaking is nothing new for LeBron James, who on Wednesday against South Sudan claimed yet another honor. Even though he may not yet be the leading scorer, James became just the third American men’s basketball player after Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant to reach 300 points in the Olympics.

‘Before the game, LeBron James needed to score six points to join the 300-point club. In less than five minutes into the opening quarter, “The King” scored his 300th Olympic point on a two-pointer off an assist from LA Lakers teammate Anthony Davis.

Prior to the game against Royal Ivey’s squad, Durant, who is also competing in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, led the pack with 458 points. On Sunday, he scored 23 points against Serbia. Durant, who is competing in his fourth Olympics, won gold with Team USA in 2012, 2016, and 2021.

Carmelo Anthony is the second player for the United States on the 300-point club. In terms of Olympic scoring, the former star of the New York Knicks may have finished his playing career, but he still has an advantage over his close friend LeBron James. In four Olympics, Anthony scored 336 points. In addition to placing third in Athens in 2004, he won gold in 2008, 2012, and 2016.

As of this writing, Team USA was up of South Sudan 55–36 at the half, with James scoring 10 points for his team.

Legendary Coack K praised LeBron James for leading Team USA in the 2024 Olympics.Despite having a number of NBA stars on its squad, LeBron James appears to be Team USA’s greatest player. In the 110-84 victory over Serbia, he finished with 21 points, seven rebounds, and eight assists. Prior to that, during the Showcase games, he guided the Americans out of difficult circumstances against Germany and South Sudan.
