LeBron James has officially become a star for Louis Vuitton. While some of us were already aware that Pharrell had enlisted the NBA legend to showcase his inaugural LV collection a few months back, it’s now confirmed: that LeBron is a Louis Vuitton man.
James made his debut as a cover star on Louis Vuitton’s website and social media platforms on January 4, 2023, coinciding with the release of Pharrell’s LV Spring/Summer 2024 collection at LV’s pop-up stores in New York and Los Angeles.
The images depict James at the pinnacle of his style. I must admit, I’ve previously found LeBron James’ personal style to be somewhat lacking (although his wife has impeccable taste). But dressed in Louis Vuitton from head to toe, James appears more polished than ever.
To be honest, the last time James looked this good was during his Thom Browne days. Pharrell’s tailored suits and flowing ensembles complement his stature with remarkable elegance. It may have taken until 2024, but here we are LeBron James in undeniably stylish outfits!
Noticeably, James is seen clutching just a single Speedy bag, a sharp contrast to the vibrant array carried by Rihanna, Pharrell’s inaugural LV celebrity fan. Presumably, this choice is intended to highlight his sophisticated wardrobe, and if so, it certainly succeeds.
Nevertheless, it’s a significant detail.
The vivid red handbag serves as a reminder: this is a Pharrell signature, the most crucial item that Louis Vuitton wishes to associate with its creative director.
Yet, LeBron James has been a central figure in Pharrell’s Louis Vuitton journey since the beginning, dating back to June 2023 when he occupied a front-row seat at the LV SS24 runway show, set atop the historic Pont Neuf bridge.
James has been seen toting around Pharrell’s LV bags in the interim and might’ve been one of the lucky VIPs to get their hands on the flagship “Millionaire” bag available exclusively for LV’s friends and family.
Those bags, by the way, live up to their name: the Millionaire is a handmade crocodile leather Speedy handbag accented with diamonds. The retail price is, obviously, one million dollars.
