Steph Curry is sporting newly designed “Girl Dad” sneakers with Kobe and Gianna Bryant on them

Steph Curry made his debut with a unique set of kicks during the second leg of the Golden State Warriors’ two-game series against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The two-time MVP sported a pair of black and purple Curry Brand trademark sneakers with varied graphics on them.

Curry’s kicked featured pictures of his daughters Riley and Ryan on one shoe. The late Gianna Bryant and Kobe Bryant were depicted on the other sneaker. Each shoe also has the phrase “Girl Dad” striped across it in addition to the personalized pictures.

Curry’s new shoes are releasing one day after the terrible anniversary of Bryant’s death. The tragic helicopter crash in Southern California that killed nine people, including Bryant and his daughter Gianna, happened one year ago on Tuesday, January 26.

After the tragic passing of the Los Angeles Lakers icon, Curry’s 2019–20 season was hampered by an injury. During the Lakers’ visit to Chase Center in the previous season, the Golden State point guard was benched and wearing a Bryant No. 24 jersey. Curry was able to honor Bryant and Gianna on the court in 2020–21 by using his shoes.
