A jersey transfer between two NBA players—Antonio Black of the Orlando Magic and Gradey Ԁick of the Toronto Raptors—has generated controversy, with some fans claiming it produced the “greatest television moment of 2024.”
Sunday night in Orlando, as the surging Magic pulled away from the slumping Raptors (111-96), the two highly regarded freshmen could not help but smile broadly while posing for photographs with their last names side-by-side while embracing midcourt.
Online evidence indicates that Ԁick uttered the word “f*** it” prior to the exchange, which suggests he and Black, who can be seen repositioning themselves for the cameras, were well aware of their actions.
Later on Ԁick’s Instagram Story was an uploaded pic’ of the jersey swap, along with the caption: ‘Always good seeing my boy! @anthonyblack’
Ԁick also commented on Barstool Sports’ post of the jersey swap: ‘Whoopsie.’
What’s more is that the Magic’s social media team innocently shared a shot of the jersey swap on X but was forced to delete it later due to loads of fans reacting to the viral moment.
Among them was ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, who tweeted on X: ‘Good lord.’
