Klay Thompson Gives Serious Thought to Departing GSW and Exploring Opportunities in the Bahamas Following a Forgettable Losing Streak

The Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament in Argentina was won by the Bahamas under the guidance of three NBA athletes. However, an even greater NBA superstar may soon be joining the squad.  Klay Thompson, a sharpshooter for the Golden State Warriors, has stated that he is in reality contemplating joining the Bahamas as a means to assist the team in qualifying for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

“When the time comes, I will give it serious consideration simply because of what The Bahamas meant to the Thompson family, and my father in particular,” Thompson said during an ANTA shoe brand-related tour to the Philippines.

Because Klay’s father, former NBA No. 1 overall decision Mychal Thompson, is of Bahamian descent, Klay is among the most intriguing additions to the Bahamian NT.

“My father never had a chance to play for the Bahamas because they just didn’t have the chance to do so back in the 70’s and the 80’s” , Klay Thompson stated. “At this time, my brother Mychel is also coaching alongside them, which is an enormous plus.” At this time, my sole attention is on the forthcoming NBA season; however, I will contemplate the possibility upon that time next summer.

Thompson has already represented Team USA at the international level, where he won gold medals at both the 2016 Olympics and the 2014 FIBA World Cup.
