The Lakers’ Christmas Joy Dashed in a 115-126 Loss to the Celtics, Disappointing Fans

Following a commanding victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Los Angeles Lakers made their way back home for another pivotal game against the Boston Celtics as part of the NBA’s traditional Christmas Day schedule.

The players were not present in the most recent game in the NBA’s most prestigious rivalry, which saw the Celtics defeat the Lakers 126-115.

The Celtics jumped off to an early lead before the Lakers used a fast break. Jaylen Brown scored two baskets and a triple, Jrue Holiday made a long basket, and Kristaps Porzingis slammed a putback to make it 12-0.

After the timeout, Cam Reddish scored a big three-pointer to put the Lakers ahead of the basket. But the Celtics quickly gained a 25-10 lead as the Lakers failed to provide any defensive resistance and they were able to have easy access to the hoop and either score or get a foul.

The fact that the Celtics were unable to answer Anthony Davis’ 13 first-quarter points was fortuitous for the Lakers. Boston eventually started to miss shots, which let Los Angeles close the first quarter with a 32-23 lead.

Payton Pritchard scored back-to-back three-pointers for Boston, while Taurean Prince scored five points in a row to start the second quarter.

Despite Porzingis’ early foul problems, Davis persisted in attacking and even made a rare three-pointer to cut the lead to three points at 47-44.

Rui Hachimura added two dunks to the action, but Porzingis answered with a three-pointer to give the Celtics the advantage again.

When James and Brown collided at the end of the quarter, the play shook them both. They did, however, get a little reprieve when the halftime break approached, as the Lakers went into the locker room behind by a slim 58-57 edge.

LeBron scored in the third quarter to give the Lakers their first lead of the day. Following a second three attempt by Prince, Holiday countered with one of his own, and Brown then sparked a Lakers timeout with a massive slam.

аfter thаt, Pоrzingis went оn а rаmpаge, bоthering the Lаkers оn bоth ends until Dаvis finished with а trаnsitiоn dunk. The Lаkers hаd а successful run аs а cоnsequence, helped in pаrt by аustin Reаves’ heаvy invоlvement.
