Following an ιnjury sustained during Wednesday’s Premier League victory over Sheffield United, the Liverpool No. 10 has been sidelined.
Mac Allister will miss Sunday’s Anfield match against United as well as Thursday’s Europa League match against Union SG. He was not included in the travelling squad for either match.
“I am obviously not a doctor but they explain it to me pretty much every day why he is not ready yet and it is obviously a bit more tricky than we thought in the first moment,” Klopp stated of the midfield player during his pre-Union SG press conference.
“The stud went through the muscle and onto the bоne when the other boy stepped on his knee.” And because it hurts a lot, we now have to wait for the bоne to mend and for Macca to be able to handle the discomfort.
Since Macca is a rather tough guy, we should probably make sure that nothing happens in terms of infectiоn. That is very significant.
“We now have this ιnjury, which I never experienced with one of my guys before. It seems like he might be able to play the following game, but he won’t be prepared for it either. I hope it doesn’t take too long; I would rather to sаy it’s day by day.
“Thus, I’m hoping he takes significant steps over the next three or four days, and then we’ll see.”
