The teen missed USC’s first eight games of the season following a cardiac arrest in July
Bronny James is establishing himself as a prominent figure!
The son of LeBron James and Savannah James, who is now 19 years old, made his first appearance in college basketball on Sunday. His father, who is a legend in the NBA, was present to witness the momentous occasion from the courtside.
Bronny entered the clash against Long Beach State approximately thirteen minutes into the game, drawing cheers from the crowd as he made his way onto the floor at the Galen Center. Bronny had missed the first eight games of the season for the University of Southern California due to a cardiac attack that occurred in July.
On the official account of the USC men’s basketball team, a video was uploaded to X (which was then known as Twitter). In the video, LeBron James, who is 38 years old, can be seen capturing the moment from the stands with his phone.
However, despite the excitement, Bronny and the USC Trojans were defeated by Long Beach State, who won the game by a score of 84-79.
on a news conference held after the game, Bronny expressed his gratitude to the medical professionals, coaches, teammates, and family members who extended their support to him on his trip back to the basketball court.
“I just want to give appreciation to everyone who has helped me through this,” he added, as can be seen in a video that was uploaded on the internet by NBA reporter Malika Andrews.
In May, Bronny went on to graduate from high school and make a commitment to play for the men’s basketball team at the University of Southern California. However, in July, he suffered a cardiac arrest while practicing, and he ended up spending two days in the hospital.
Towards the end of the previous month, the young man received a complete clearance to resume his athletic activities, and earlier this week, he joined his teammates from the Trojans for practice.
In the past, LeBron James expressed his excitement to the media following the victory of the Los Angeles Lakers over the New Orleans Pelicans last week. He stated that he was “super excited” to witness his oldest son make his debut in college basketball.
“It is without a doubt a significant achievement for our family. According to him, this is yet another step that he has taken in his path through his basketball career.
If his son’s first game of the season happened to coincide with a Lakers regular season game, LeBron James had even told his teammates that he would not participate in the game.
In an earlier explanation to reporters, he stated, “I already told my teammates that if they play on the same day that we are playing, I’m going to have to catch them the next game,” as reported by NBC 4.
The NBA player continued by saying, “Family is most important.” However, I will make it a point to attend Bronny’s first game as soon as he is able to play and has been cleared to do so.
