LEBRON James’s first preseason appearance for the Los Angeles Lakers featured a striking Filipino element.

Nike LeBron NXXT Gen EP “TITAN Hoops Fair” was a special collaboration between Nike Basketball and the nation’s first and only basketball specialty concept store. The King wore it to begin his 21st season in the NBA.

The new LeBron sneaker “encapsulates the optimism, creative imagination, and electric basketball energy that have always been and will always be woven into the basketball culture of the Philippines,” as described and featured on the official website of TITAN.

“As The King continues to equip the next stars of the game with footwear built for them to shine, TITAN celebrates the basketball energy that only Manila can bring,” the announcement stated.

Additionally, on Tuesday evening (local time), the four-time NBA champion and MVP paid special tribute to the Philippines via his Instagram story.
Tuesday marked the first victory of the preseason for the Lakers as they defeated the Brooklyn Nets, capping a swift turnaround following their opening loss to the Golden State Warriors without LeBron James.

The 2023-24 regular season will commence on October 25 (7:30 a.m. local time) in less than two weeks, with the Lakers travelling to face the newly crowned Western Conference Finals champions, the Denver Nuggets.
